My buddy has a '55-1st series 6cyl/spd. He put a 3spd O/D in along with a '72 rear with 3.08s. He didn't like the free-wheeling feel going down hill and pulled the O/D. We now have a '72 full-synchro Saginaw 3spd with that '72 3.08 rear and that thing buzzes right on up the hiway. Plenty of pull on the hills and she rolls on out off the line w/o slipping the clutch. I think it has 235/75-15s on it
