8 lug vs 6 lug vs 5tru lug

I have a 67 C10 that has been converted to 8 lug wheels front and rear. I believe 71 arms and spindles in the front with discs and a dana 60 in the rear that is NOT centered properly. two inch spacer on one side only.

I have been reading a number of threads about converting to five lug and also about converting to 8 lug.

My tire guy said I would need to stay with a light truck tire rather an all season that may be better in the rain.

My question is: what is the advantage of eight lug over 5 lug? Not planning on towing anything heavy or loading the box.

Any advice would be great.
