Took some pics by the river
Isn't it great that people love rusty trucks? I've had this truck since 2004, bought it in Enterprise AL, I showed it to a local shop owner and he said he had been trying to buy it forever, not sure why the PO decided to sell to me, but it's been a fun driver over the years. I parked it in 2010, then fired it up in 2014 when my sister needed something to drive. She said people kept wanting to buy it, so I thought about selling it, and got 11 replies to the following CList ad the evening I posted it. I deleted the ad because I didn't want to mess with that many people looking at it, I and may let them know if I put it on Ebay, highest bidder gets it.
"I get asked all the time if I want to sell this, the 67-72 Chevy trucks have even made a list of vehicles that collectors should ad to their portfolio, the short fleets are very desirable. Jimmy here has a 6 cyl 3 on tree original driveline, lowered the old school way by torching the coil springs, kind of a bumpy ride over bumps, runs and drives but needs maintenance. The paint has been 47 years in the making, some people call it rust, some call it patina, but I call it a sling blade. I painted it once and it came back to haunt me. Had offer of $2000 so make a tempting offer, don't need any project trades, boats, cycles or anything newer than 1972, unless sporty, I really don't need any more vehicles as I'm a car hoarder. Only real reason I'm selling is because I got a 72 K5 Blazer two wheel drive to replace it. I may put it on Ebay because the last time I put an add I had a ton of responses also." What's the best way to sell it? I do have some med bills to pay also. I read how some guys had never changed the oil in these old 6 cylinders, so I have never changed the oil, just added it, I figured if it ever ruined it I would drop in a V8. It has black oil, but still keeps running great, if it aint broke don't fix it, I did put a 2 barrel carb and adapter on it to replace the leaky 1 barrel. I did finally call the first guy to reply, he liked it, but didn't like rust at the back of the doors, he said if I put it back up it would sell quick. He was surprised it was running and driving, it's been in the same condition for a long time, doesn't seem to be getting any rustier.
