Tank swap question

I am looking at moving the tank out of the cab. I am doing a ground up restoration on a 1969 GMC C1500. I have been searching threads on this subject, but what I am seeing is using a 1969 Camero on Chevy trucks with coil springs. My truck has leaf springs. My question is will the Camero tank clear the leaf spring mounts? I really don't want to use a suburban tank if I don't have to, I would rather not cut holes in my bed. Has anyone put a Camero tank on a truck with leaf springs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
