That just it. If someone take the time to put these parts up for 40 years ,and keeps them in pristine condition , then they should not be expected to sell the parts cheap. Its not a bad thing to sell a part for a high price. Look on ebay and see how many NOS pieces are for sale then compare it to how many restorations are going on and you will quickly see that there is a demand. If you sell a part cheap you haven't really capitalized on the cost of storing them for 40 years and taking the risk of them getting damaged and becoming worthless. I'm glad these parts still exist.
Its the same thing with your truck. You paid $1500 but turned down 10k. Are you trying to capitalize on your investment? I don't think so . it's just worth that or more.
