Shorten or not ? Cheyenne Super long bed to a short bed

Usually I will only cut a longbed fleet side down to a short bed if it is a rough truck needing suspension or drivetrain or paint and body work, or all of the above. I've never cut a #s matching truck, an A/C truck or a survivor truck. I've made a 67 C20 long bed into a C10 short bed. Currently I have a 71 C10 with a 68' front clip that had miss matched rough long bed sides needing body work. It's now a short bed with brand new straight short bed sides.

Recently a guy who looked at my 69 GMC short wide ask if I would shorten my Cheyenne Super? He said he would buy it only if it was a short bed. It's a # matching 350/TH350 w/Air Conditioning. Besides a mid 90s bench seat and single DIN radio the interior and exterior are in good condition and original.

I don't think its a good idea to cut such an original good condition Cheyenne Super? What do you think?
