Little race with a local C10

Well, since I have my topend apart on my vette, doing a little repair work, I figured I'd take the truck out tonight...So, guess what I found? Of course, another good looking C10 (an 81 to be exact.) I first seen him rollin around, didn't pay much attention, but once I seen him with no tailgate or rear bumper, I figured he was down to race...so I rolled up next to him, gave him a few revs, plunked it in 2nd and nailed it. But by the time I nailed it, he had already nailed it, and mine took a minute to downshift and he was able to pull away from me (pretty hard!) So I rolled up next to him, and asked him "WHAT THE HELL IS IN THAT?!?" which he replies "327 bored to 350." Uhh...haha, I guess someone told this guy a stupid thing..that's absolutely nothing special...because a 350 IS basically a 327 bored over. hahaha. So, again, I put it in 2nd, and THIS time I was more prepared than he was, and I was the one that was able to jump out on him pretty hard, without him being able to get even NEAR me...So, when he pulled back up, he's the one asking "What you got in THAT?!" Which I reply "Basically stock 355." So, he told me to pull over (guess he wanted to check my shieet out more.) So, I pulled over and we bs'd a while. Cool guy, little up top though..kept talking like he was a LITTLE on the ricer side. (Like, how he had his "Stage 2" Flowmasters, and how he was UPGRADING to "Stage 3". ) So, basically his motor was a stock 350, with Performer Manifold/Carb, Dynomax Headers (uncoated) and dual 2½'s, with a TH350. Of course, his engine bay was FILTHY! He had disconnected all the smog equipment and A/C stuff, but it was just all hanging in there...there even was an old oil bottle. As soon as I popped my hood, the guy was all "DAMN! Your sheeit is CLEAN! All new and chrome. (I guess cuz of my chrome air cleaner and valve covers.) He also said "Wow, you really gutted this out didn't you?", and I said "Haha, nope, my dad ordered it with no power nothing, and no A/C. The only thing I removed was the smog pump."
So, all in all, cool truck, prolly the same speed as mine (He had "stock" gears, which means prolly 2.73's) maybe a little slower (or so I think, right? hahaha)
Here's a couple shots of it...
