2004 Chevy 5.3 Swap to 72 GMC Jimmy

I have a 2004 Chevy Express Van that I picked up (free) the motor runs the engine holds great oil pressure but the transmission is shot.

It is drive by cable, I am looking to keep everything I need to complete the swap. Those of you that have done similar swaps what did you get rid of that you wish you had kept?

I have the GM LS series Swap Manual. Need to get the engine out and parts that I need to keep so that the van can go By-By. All the typical space and (ugly parts issues).

I have been reading as much as I can on the Board.

Mod, Can you move this to engines ect. I thought I was in that section when I posted this. FNG issues
