Removing Heater Question

After I saw the other thread on the mouse nest in the heater I decided to pull my heater out and clean it. I got all the bolts out but it would appear I have to take the hood off the clear the blower motor assy end--is that correct? It moves around no problem but is hung up on that end by the hinge.

Also, do they make the duct which presses against the firewall?
