Re: spicer locking hubs
I'm fortunate that I have 7-8 junk yards all within a half hour drive.
I try to hit them when I can. in practaly 9 months one new 67-72 4spd 6 cly 2wd c20 flat bedshowed up at this small yard within the past month nobody touched it yet but it's very very tough to get to. But I Will get to it. Even my thread title proves I didn't know what I saw at this yard we ran through quickly on sat just before they closed. But I did make a deal before we left. I knew I saw hooks but made no comment about them in the deal just the springs and lockouts. Today the yard owner was cutting the springs off i asked him to torch those hooks off just cause they were cool looking. OK he said. While he watch me struggled to get these lockouts off. He was done way before me and took off to crush cans. Little while later I drug the parts over to my truck he noticed and came over and only charged me for the spring and (torch/cutting fee). No matter how small a part a good gm piece is still a great find. That little seat track thingy can really save some grief. Guys thanks for all the help. I learned something from this thread for future knowledge. Let's just hope I can remember what I see next time. Did I mention i'm color blind.
