Help! Motor is 3.5" forward??

I have a daily driver '69 C20. Stock except the th350 is now a th400 (w/ low tunnel). I needed brakes and ball joints so I cut up a '78 C20 and swapped the cradle into mine. Everything went pretty smoothly but my 78 style motor mounts are 3.5" rearward from the originals! I've undone the tranny mount and collapsed the drive shafts to give me room but I still need 2". Should I shorten the mid driveshaft, move the tranny mount rearward(smash in the bottom of cab to get bolts up and out)? But I'm out of money and time so maybe I need to cut up my motor mount towers and move them forward 3"?
Sorry to rant but I'm at a loss on how difficult this is becoming. I'm by myself and ice pulled the motor in and out 4 times trying to get it to work. I've read all the builds on this subject and no one mentions it being so far off??

Thank you,
