Change bezel lettering - anyone done it?

I'm in the process of installing my old Hickey Sidewinder winch onto my 1980 Suburban. In the course of rebuilding the winch last year, I realized that the remote control is a very simple momentary switch not unlike the fuel selector switch common on the dual tank trucks.

So of course I thought wouldn't it be cool to have a dash mounted switch to control the winch that appeared almost factory installed. What I would love to do is remove the lettering from the fuel switch bezel and change it to something similar to the photo I have attached. Removing the old lettering should be easy - time alone has almost taken care of that for me. Can anyone suggest some method I could accomplish myself to create the new lettering? I've found a font that is very similar to the GM fuel switch. I'm thinking of trying a decal making kit from Testors, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has tackled this in a different manner.

Thanks in advance
