Optional overload spring

Just curious.....

My LWB '72 has the optional overload spring/brackets on both sides. I will soon be doing a 3/4 drop, and was wondering if I need to remove all of this, or just warm up the springs and bend them upwards away from the stops the same distance as stock, after the lowering?

I will not be towing with the truck, nor ever hauling anything of heavy weight...

Thanks....
