I used this also after I ran out of the FatMat. I only had a small amount to do, to finish the job, mainly the back of the cab behind the seat (post #5). The card board tool holder covered up the foil. Well I covered that in speaker box carpeting. I really didn't notice a difference in the material, smell, thickness from the FatMat. And your right, it's much much cheaper.
