Bellhousing to Flywheel dimension - help!
Replacing ZZ502 with LS3, backed by TKO-600.
I'm using a GM flywheel that is 0.400 thicker than stock to compensate for the LS motor's inset flywheel mount (it's 0.400 further away from the trans than the BBC). I've measured the "Bellhousing Face to Flywheel Face" dimension on the ZZ502 that came out, and the LS3 with this new flywheel. For the ZZ502, I get 1.50" For the LS3, I get 1.52" What I don't know is how close is close enough? Should I be able to stick my clutch and pressure plate on there and the 0.02" will never matter? If anyone has access to an SBC or BBC to check theirs, that'd be greatly appreciated. I only have one motor on hand, but its the one that came out... Thanks Dave
