toe in question.

I just replaced my tie rods with some n.o.s. TRW ends I bought last year at a swap meet. I'm going to take it in for aliniment anyways but I would like to have the toe in set some what close to make the 30 mile trip. I looked up previous threads on this and from what I've found and what I did was set the toe in at 3/16 from center of treads on tire. Is this correct for radial tires which I have or is this set up fo bais ply tires. Guy at work has me questioning this so I thought I would ask you guys . My fronts are 32x11.50r15. If that matters
