Question about 69-72 cowl induction hoods
I am thinking about putting a cowl induction hood on my 1972 shortbox stepside but have a couple questions.
1. Do the stock hinges and hood latch bolt on like the originals or do you have to drill your own holes? 2. If I go with the cowl hood, I would like a steel hood instead of fiberglass. There are many manufacturers/suppliers out there and was wondering who carries the metal hood for the best: - fit? - cheapest price? I know cheapest is not always best but do all the suppliers get their hoods from the same place/ same couple places? For example: the truck shop carries the 69-72 cowl induction hood for $368 but it does not list steel or fiberglass MotherTruckers - steel $359 GMCPauls - steel $389.95 Christians - non specified $395 Classic Heartbeat Pickup - steel $409.95 Southern Kentuck Classics - steel $415 Golden State - not specified $419 Brothers - steel $419.95 Athey's Classic Truck parts - steel $425 Early Classics - steel $439 American Classic - steel $445 Truckers - steel $449 LMC - steel $449.95 Goodmark - steel $449.95 Thanks for the help. Just trying to get the best quality for the best price.
