72 c10 side molding and grille

I am currently building a 72 c10 and it came with only the lower side molding. (C10/custom). Anyways I have allnof the molding but the previous owner painted all of the side molding, grill, bumpers and all trim black. I am wondering anyone know of a way to clean this off the molding and then I can polish and repaint proper areas or should I just buy new? I purchased a nice used grill that inplan to strip with coil cleaner to get the anodizing off and then polish it. Any suggestions on this also? Why they would paint the side molding I do not know! It is all in good shape. Any suggestions or helpnis greatly appreciated.

Thanks
David
