71 C30 diff leaking - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi all,

I purchased a seal to change on diff because it is leaking a little. When I removed everything, there was no seal. The seal I bought wont fit in the pocket and I cannot figure out why there was no seal. There is a seal inside when I remove the plate with 5 bolts, but I saw a pic and there is not seal. Is this possible no seal on the outside?
