Carb Questions

Couple quick questions: Did our trucks typically come with Q-Jets stock? Also I have heard that there are rebuild kits pretty cheap, and that they are pretty easy to do. I am a reasonably smart, fairly mechanically inclined (once I do something I am usually able to do it again), but I personally have never done any carb work before. Does it make sense for me to attempt this my self? Also does any one recommend a specific kit over another?

I am assuming that this is the original carb, that came with the truck, and I am unsure of when it was last adjusted/serviced, so I figured that before tuning it all up I would do a rebuild first.

Thanks in advance

Scott
