Getting to know our new truck

We traded our Jeep for this 1970 K/20. At first glance it seemed really solid. The more I crawl around in it/under it, the more I am finding to fix.
Yesterday, the super-sloppy steering was fixed. Was thinking it was all draglink related but there were more issues. A wise man once said, check the easiest things first! Turns out the steering box bolts were finger tight, or less, and the whole thing was moving. After tightening all the bolts and changing the dragline, it doesn't require endless sloppy steering wheel corrections just go straight down the road-like a little kid pretending to drive!
Didn't notice much oil under the truck until after it was parked for a week. It had quite the growing puddle! After doing a lot forum googling and asking questions (thanks to those who responded), I decided to change the valve cover gaskets first. Sure enough, the most oily side had a cork gasket with an 1/8" break in it. Will revisit oil leaks again, I'm sure. Still have gear oil leaking from either the sm465 or the np205.
Inherited from the prev owner- a "sport bumper" (?) and the step bumper he cut off. Got the new one installed and it looks way better than without a bumper at all!
Happy Memorial Day! Fly the flag!!!
