Chasing what I think is a ground fault

When I hooked up my 70's GM van column in the 62 C10 I've been working on I went off the color code charts that are floating around and thought I had it in the bag.

I don't

I have no turn signals and my dash light stays on

I can go one better, the horn blows when you attempt to use a turn signal

Horn button itself is super sensitive (Grant kit on a Mooneyes wheel)

No flashers either even though I added the flasher circuit.

I have brake lights, headlights, park lamps, back up lights but the column wiring is in need of some reconciliation

Thanks in advance to anyone who will endeavor to shed some light on this on this mystifying dilemma I face
