CPP drop spindles and Wilwood D-52's- calipers don't fit???

If anyone here has done the disc brake conversion with the CPP drop spindles and wilwood upgrade, did you have any issues with the calipers not fitting into the spindles? Mine feel like they are just a bit too tight- like if I tapped them with a mallet they *might* go in, but I don't want to mess up the machined surfaces on the aluminum calipers.

I'm thinking I might get the clearance I need if I file the offending area on the calipers but wtf. For what I paid, there shouldn't be these sorts of issues.

(The spindles are not powdercoated, just painted)
