looking for advice on A pillar rust on a 63.

I started stripping to bare metal to see where my problem areas are and it looks like ive got a good bit of rust in the A pillars on both sides of the truck and along the top door jam. Of course the floors are shot too but there is at least repo part for that. The A pillars on the other hand I have not been abke to locate an aftermarket alternative, and even if i could I'm more than certain they are crap. So I am looking for advice on how I tackle this. I have looked around for cabs in my area to maybe cut the roof off but they all have the same rust, the Midwest sucks for that.

My idea is to brace the crap out of the cab, cut out the entire top door jam and weld in some smal patches piece by piece instead of cutting out large chunks and potentially loosing the correct shape. Anyone seen any write ups on this kind of repair? I should also mention that it is my plan to pull the roof skin and clean up inside there, seal it with por15 and dynamat so with that in mind should I pull the roof skin first to allow better access to this rusted A pillar section?
