SM465 to NV4500 ,10 Spline 205 72-K10
Ok I have had numerous request for Info on this swap on my build I will consolidate my pics and share what little knowledge I know .
First off the parts ; NV4500 from Midwest Transmissions Advance Adapter Bellhousing and transmission to transfer case adapter Part # 27-0030 Hydraulic clutch linkage bracket from Advanced Adapter part #715535 Dorman slave cylinder Part # DHB-cs37791 Wilwood master Cylinder Part # wil-260-1304 Here is the tranny and adapter for the transfer case I had Midwest Transmission set this part up they had to cut the tail shaft down and shipped everything freight . I spoke with a guy named Scott , He knew exactly what I was doing very nice guy Now here is where I had to do some thinking , The NV4500 is longer . So what I did was measure the old tranny with the bell housing and old transfer case adapter on it . I came up with 2' difference . I moved the engine cross member forward 2 inches . (this helps in 3 different was ,1 gives me more room for my distributor ,2 moves the tranny shifter back a touch ,3 keeps the transfer case shifter close to the same place . This allows you to leave the transmission cross member in the same location . After I had the front cross member moved forward 2' I borrowed an old block from a friend and mounted everything up Next came the slave cylinder ,pretty simple set up Now I had to figure out the master ,I found a thread here that showed this not sure of the poster but I located it in line with the clutch pedal and did my best calculations on the throw needed for the cylinder ( which is about an 1-1/2'" ) . I then took a hole saw and drilled through the fire wall . Mocked up a piece of 3/16 " plate and welded it to the brake master cylinder (again not my idea I think it was CaptianFab ) I will post pics of the clutch pedal assembly, heim joint and the high hump tomorrow or over the weekend for everyone . There are a few kinks I have to figure out on the transfer case linkage so I can remodel the hole in the high hump ,I already redone the hole for the transmission shifter . If any one has questions or needs more pics let me know Last edited by TCCGRIZ; 06-16-2016 at 10:23 AM. |
