Need Opinions -Please Read - Think I found a real survivor
I have a lead on an all original (right down to the hub caps), 67 GMC long step. I have lots of questions. Trying to figure out if it is worth buying. I want any and all opinions on it, as I want to be sure that it is worth it before I drive the distance to see it.
Is a long step 67 GMC rare? and is a long step desirable? It has the 6 cylinder , with 4 speed. Are the 4 speeds a strong enough setup to put a crate 383 behind? What rear end ratio would it likely have? I am going to look at it and take digital pics next week, as it is on a remote farm site. It has the original paint, and only 40,000 miles on it. One owner truck, retired farmer, rust free including cab corners. Steering wheel is perfect, the only thing the guy told me was wrong with interior is that the drivers side of the seat has some cracks on the side. Sounds real good to me. Color is white roof top, with red bottom, and the interior is that 67 grayish interior color that alot of them had. Apparantly the original paint is barely faded, as it sat in a shop every night. Runs like a top. Give me some feedback please!!!! Asking price is $4,000 canadian.
