Inner wheel bearing

I am replacing the front wheel bearings on my 64 c10 with standard drums. I got the
Timken bearings from Rockauto. The spindle is 1.375 and the inner bearing id is 1.372. It won't slide on the spindle. Is this normal? Is the bearing supposed to be a tight fit? My shop manuals don't indicate anything about this.
Help Please? Thanks!
P.S. I did search for this issue but found nothing.
