Turbo 350 Tranny Help

The tranny in my 70 K2500 started slipping bad so I found what was advertised as new old stock K series TH 350 in crate on eBay. They had 9 of them - still have 8. It's now in my truck. I think the valve body must have been swapped out for a full manual because it requires shifting to shift.

Two questions - One, can I clean and swap the VB from my prior tranny into this one?

And two, anyone have any idea what these are? Seems odd to have 9 race 350s laying around in crates wrapped in old anti rust paper?!

Here is tranny info;
