brake question... not about which ones, dont worry

So, went out for the inaugural test drive after 3.5years of building!!!! I was doing a fairly standard engine breaking kinda drive and noticed that when I put it in neutral there was a lot of drag. Also started smelling brake pad.

Pulled over, and it seemed like the fronts where HOT! like really hot, so I figured they were the culprit. Sat on the side of the road for about 15min, and decided the best idea was to drive to a bar to park the truck, let it sit for an hour to cool and then go back to the garage to trouble shoot.

Well, started to drive after that initial 15min, and no more drag. It just went away. what do you think was going on? Like I said everything is brand new CPP discs and rotors up front, 73chev power brake booster and master and CPP proportioning valve. So far, Im thinking it might just be piston stiction from 3 years of sitting in the shop amongst dust, fabrication fallout and whatnot. what do you think?
