Removing behind seat fuel tank brackets
Howdy,
I bought a newer seat for my '66, from which previous owner had already removed cab mounted tank, and when I pulled old seat yesterday realized I still have big ole brackets back there. Since one of the bolts holding the bracket on each side is a body mount bolt, I assume I'll need to put something back more substantial than just a standard nut and washer? Should I cut some plate and fashion a backing plate for the floor of the cab, or just a fender washer, or I pondered cutting out a portion of the bracket and tacking it down to the cab floor and using the factory captive nut. Any suggestions? Am I over thinking it and I should just stick a nut on it and move on? Ryan |
