Lifting a 2wd truck, 1972

Hey all, I've done hours of research and I think I've read every thread on this, but none of them seem current, or had a defining answer. So I have a 72 gmc c15 that I'd like to lift 3 inches or so, make it look like a stock 4x4 with a small lift. Could I simply add a 3 inch cool spacer on top of the coils like a jeep can do? The back is easy and I can figure that out, but could someone point me in the direction for lifting the front some, thanks everyone!
