47-54 door weatherstripping
helping buddy with his 54 gmc. he bought new weatherstripping rubber from LMC and glued it in according to their youtube how-to. the doors will not close, not even close. striker plate is all the way out already. the rubber is too dense and won't compress. seems like he needs a new rubber style or manufacturer. anybody have any ideas? he grabbed a sample of "D" style hollow stripping with 2 sided tape on the back. it is too wide but looks like a narrower strip like that would work if we can find some.
any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
