Oil pressure issue

Hi, I recently purchased a 1975 gmc sierra grande with a 350 motor. When I fired it up I noticed their was an oil leak coming from the oil filter. I just replaced the filter and noticed that the rubber o-ring keeps being pushed off the filter. I took it off and put the o-ring back in the proper spot on the filter but as soon as I started the truck it did the same thing. The oil filter isn't loose. Could their be a problem with the amount of oil pressure entering the filter?
