LMC Dash Bezel or Instrument Lens Problems
Hey guys,
Has anyone had alignment problems with the LMC repro Dash Bezel or Lens? I am restoring a dash cluster with gauges and ordered both the Bezel and Lens. Today, I started installing the new parts and immediately ran into trouble. There were the two huge extra posts in the center of the Bezel that had to be trimmed off. OK, easy enough. Then, the new Lens was REALLY tight and barely fit into the new Bezel. I finally got it in without cracking it. So far, so good. But, when I starting bolting the original gauge assembly into the Bezel two of the holes didn't line up. They are the two screws at the bottom next to the steering column opening. OK, maybe I can get by without using these holes. When I flipped it over, I couldn't believe how misaligned everything was. The speedometer and gas gauge are TOO LOW in the opening. The left side of the gauges looked OK, but the little blank design and temperature wording is WAY TOO FAR to the right (looking at it straight on). The last "E" in "OIL PRESSURE" is almost under the lip of the bezel. I know I need to make a call to LMC, but is it the repro Instrument Lens or the repro Dash Bezel? Or both? POP
