Journey of Claire the 1972 GMC C15 LWB "BOAT"
Been lurking for the last few weeks and finally figured I would document the journey for the newest and oldest member of my GM truck family.
And so it begins... I purchased her about a month ago. This was after perusing the local Craigslist and noticing she had been up for sale for almost 40 days (Thank goodness Alabama is a relatively poor state). It was right then that I knew I had to have her. Me and a buddy drove out to the paint rock area with a trailer and I decided she was worth bringing home. Didn't care too much for the 15's the PO had on so he put on some steelys and knocked a good bit off the asking price. She got trailered back because it was late and the steering box was completely shot She isn't perfect, but I love her and cant wait to build her into an awesome cruiser or street rod. Some of her issues are body filler on the bed sides, the rockers have been replaced once and are starting to rot through again, both doors are pretty well shot and she leaks a bit trans fluid, but it's all nothing that can't be fixed
