Re: My long term 57 project
Well guys, I finally had some spare time to install the Altman door latches. It took some time to get everything lined up and adjusted, but now they work great. The doors are much more secure and don't rattle nearly as much as they did before. The cab feels much tighter too.
I went with the long panel option, it lays over the stock door panel between the raised ribs and wraps around the end. The instructions are good and easy to follow and the kit came with all hardware needed. First cut was made after laying out the supplied template on the door panel. The first 3 pic's show the template and the panel after the cuts and with the latch loosely in place. Then following the instructions I marked out the cut lines on the passenger door. The window channel touches the door, so you must be very careful making the top cut. There is also a reinforcement panel behind the door edge that needs to be trimmed away too. ![]()
