Short box vs Long box

Ive been skimming the board looking to get values on things (I'm downsizing big time). I'm curious why short box 4x4's seem to be worth more than long box 4x4's. I kind of get it for 2 wheel drives, sporty vs. utility, but 4x4's (to me) are a utility vehicle. I realize long box in both styles can be sporty too.

I saw some pricing on trucks people are selling or purchasing and I was thinking wow, that's way too much for that truck. It seems that if you have two identical 4x4's long and short that the shorts can bring a couple of grand more. I just cant wrap my head around this.

I have a 68 GMC K20 I figure the value (well the price I would consider lol) is at 5500.00, no less, maybe a little more?

But if it was a shorty they look to be going for around 7 grand in the same condition. Why is this?
