fixing floor, putting in carpet soon.
I'm taking a parts door I got and cutting sheet metal to patch up my floor. I know it might not be the best way to do it but this is how I'm doing it.
made card baord stencils of parts that were rusted out. traced them on to the sheet metal (68 door) and gonna cut em out with a jigsaw. Then lay them and bend them and such over the rotting parts.....each peice is going to have enough extra length to go beyond the rusted out parts and then I will first drill and rivet them in place until I can get to san antonio to have my brother in law weld around the edges of the patches to permanantly hold them in place. Will this work forever???? Maybe not, but this is the most affordable way to make progress on my truck at the moment. I know about cuttin out all the bad parts and then welding in new sheet metal, but I'm gonna do it this way and see how it comes out. Later!!!
