Vintage air controller (oem) question

Quick question.... (VA and my vendor are gone for the weekend and i'm just too impatient too wait until Monday to figure this out)

I just received my Gen IV system, and they sent me the kit for a non-air cab using a heater only controller. I ordered the kit for using a OEM A/C controller. Looking at the packing lists for both kits, the only real difference I see is a bracket that mounts to the bottom of the controller. What is the purpose of this bracket?

If not needed, it looks like I can use what they sent me, and just use the other instructions off their site.
