Spare tire hoist

wanted to know if anyone has adopted a spare tire hoist from a newer vehicle to their truck? I have started to convert mine over with a used Nissan hoist I got from the junk yard. It it has a chain and not the cable like newer Chevys/GMCS. (heard the cables had a tendency to break)

I am basically going to bolt it to some existing holes in the top of the frame. Maybe a brace or two, nothing fancy. Not sure if I should keep the original 1985 strap or not. Since the Nissan didn't use it, it might be overkill.

The 1985 jack rod actually fits in the hole and moves the chain up and down. I just need to drill some access holes in the frame and the bed support below the tailgate. (once the bed is back on the frame)
