Glove Box Liner Installation

I used these two Guys advice plus added a couple of my own ideas and installed my glove box liner with no rips or tears or even a crease..

I found in search the smart ideas from these two forum members and I highly recommend you do as they suggest ..

This advice is from Wes owner of Classic Heartbeat

The correct installation of the glove box liner is behind the sheetmetal on the top and sides. Your glove box liner has little metal clips for the screws to go through for those areas. However the bottom of the glove box liner goes on top of the sheetmetal. Actually sandwiched between the glove box hinge and the sheetmetal. You will need to cut the liner on the end relief slits made to bend the cardboard liner around the corner. Otherwise the liner will not be supported on the bottom. WES

LocDoc (Leon) has good advice on what tools to use to put in or take out the liner without damaging it..

The only thing I did to add to what they suggested is
I heated up the liner with a hair dryer to make the cardboard more forgiving when pushing into place

And to add to the tools used I found that a margin trowel was handy along with the paint sticks to get the liner edge up and over the sheetmetal and into place ,used it as a pry bar so to speak.

I also took clear moving box tape and taped the 4 clips into place on the front lip of the sheetmetal where the liner edge and door hinge fastens down and by doing so the liner slides over it easily with hanging up ..

Here are a few photos of how it looks from start to finish ,,
