I'd have to agree. The 12 valve is one of the best engines ever designed. I build the natural gas version at work,(I borrowed the pic from google) they are so simple to build but they are damn near bomb proof. We have several that have been running natural gas compressors in the field for 10+ years 24 hrs a day with nothing more than an occasional rebuilt head. The diesel version is even better. They will pull a load and laugh doing it. They are pretty easy to build power with compared to all the later computer controlled engines.

Yeah swapping a diesel would be sick but a lot of money lol and I just finish this ls swap like 3 months ago but i think if this motor dies then the 5.9 will be next to replace it but I heard there kind of a pain to fit? do you have to cut into the firewall? or does it fit in the engine bay just snug.
