Project "Shirley"
About 5 years ago, I started on a 72 K5 Blazer frame off project build. I have my own shop and do all of my own builds. The only thing I do not do is re-upostery. All mechanical, electrical, body, paint, glass, etc... I do myself. I was about 1 year into the build when my wonderful mother-in-law came down with cancer. She always loved the blazer so I told her it would be my "Shirley Girl". One year later she passed. I continued to build on her but with an added interest. NO short cuts, No half-assed. I wish I would of posted pics as the build went on. I lost most of the frame off pics due to cell phone with no memory card, and as old as I, did not know what "The CLOUD" was. Any way. This will be a short build post. This I would of taken more.
The 72 is NEW from front to back. I can not tell you what is not been either replaced or re-condidtioned. The complete drive, engine, transfer cace, transmission, axels, gears, his, suspension. All glass, seals, wiring, controls, heater, blowers, door window and lock registers. Like I said, it is all NEW. I hope you like some of the pics. Thank you for looking. |
