torsion bar swap out??

Hi new to the forum, so please bear with me, also my 1st c10

just bought a 62 burb w/ the torsion bar front end and a straight 6.

wanted to do a v8 or ls swap and I am reading every where people are doing a later model coil front end swap.

what is the advantage?

or the disadvantage to the torsion bar? do they stink? break?

if I stay with the torsion bar do I have to upgrade the bars for the v8 weight?

is there a rear end from a later model I can use with out to much fab?
