Emissions Equipment or lack there of?

I got a '78 3/4 ton, I live in a emission checked area and I've looked over the truck from front to back and don't see any emissions sticker along with no emissions equipment. No cat, no egr, no air pump (well, no air pump don't surprise me) and I was wonder how I go about the emissions check? Am i gonna have to put a cat and what not on? Did this year truck even come with those things? Thanks in advance for any info you can shed on this subject.
