wheel offset advice?

67 c10. I have the six bolt axels. It currently has some 24"s that I hate. Looking for a combo that would not break the bank.

I'm thinking 17 x 8 or so (flexible). I would like something that more or less fills the wheel wells without, of course, rubbing.

Could someone recommend a combo, I don't know what offset I should look for or the tire height (size). And what about center hole size?

here is a pic of the truck. After I put on the wheels, I plan to lower the rear until it's even with the front. I like wide tires, whatever will fit without rubbing.

any advice appreciated.
