63 step-side

I need some wisdom from the experts here. I know all about my 97 CC\Dually but the father in law decided its time to get rid of his 1963 Step-side. I don't know all the details yet but it has the 250 with 3 on the tree. My problem is that I have no idea how much he should ask for? I will get pics and complete description in a couple days. I have seen price in wet states ask from $1200 to $40,000. Now I know that's way out of reach but at the same time it would be nice to get as much as possible. What are classic truck owners looking for? Thanks guys
