Defrost vent positioning and paint sheen?

Taking another shot at this..........

Can anyone confirm the BOTTOM of the LH defrost vent is directed toward the driver's side, and firewall and the BOTTOM of the RH defrost vent is directed toward the firewall? Put another way, the smallest louver on both vents face outwards (symmetrical).

I know it's easy to figure out when installed, but I try to do the "legwork" as I tear into this truck. The duct was removed long ago, and at least one vent replaced. My other truck doesn't have any, go figure.

Also, is the sheen on the top of the vents supposed to be satin or flat? I know the dash is supposed to be flat, but different material. The underneath of these (original) were gloss.

Thank you
