Am I Being A Blockhead?

So I have been running a WTB on Craigslist looking for GMC Big V6's. I got a call from a guy with a '61 K10 (yes, 4X4) and a '63 K20 (yes, 4X4) - both with 305's as well as a core 305. $1000 takes it all. While I am not too hot for 305's (mainly looking for 379, 401, 432, and 478's), should I buy the trucks just to get running and flip them?

The '61 body is rough. Not a straight piece of metal and the typical floorboard/fender/cab corner rust. Being a Montana truck, the frame is solid.

The '63 is similar, just not quite as many dents.

Is this something I can make a decent amount of money on just by dinging them up and flipping them?
