73 Cheyenne 20...my new toy
Hey Guys,
I've been on this site in the past, when I was getting my 72 longbed up to speed. But, I have a new toy that I'll be going to get next month...a 1973 Cheyenne 20, 350, automatic. This old girl was originally sold in Key West and then traded in and sold in 1976 to the most recent owner...he used it on a property in northern Georgia. Apparently, it was only used on the property, when he would go there to hunt, fish, etc. The odometer reads 11,000 miles, and in theory, those could be genuine miles. The guy selling the truck (the previous owner passed away a couple years ago at 95) says that the carpeting looks like new and there is no wear on the pedals. I'll know more once I get my hands on it next month...and, I'll be sure to keep you guys posted. Either way, I'm looking forward to bringing her home. I learned to drive on a '74 (C10, base model, 3-on-the-tree, 250), and I've had two '78's (a shortbed, fleetside 'Big 10', 350/350, brown and a one ton, 'Camper Special', 454, 4-speed, blue/silver)...so, the these trucks have a special place in my heart! |
